Cold Weather and Your Pet

It's Fall, and Winter is just around the corner. Everyone is getting prepared, putting up storm windows, changing the anti-freeze in their cars, and exchanging summer clothes for winter woolens. But what can we do to help our four-legged friends? Here are a few ideas to consider.

Ticks, Yuck

You're at home. It's a quiet spring evening, and you are sitting in the living room running your fingers through the fur of your companion, your pet. Suddenly you feel a small lump under his or her fur. Is it a cyst, a scar, or a wound? No. To your dismay, when you look closer, you find that there is a bug on your pet. It's round or oval, sized from 1/16" to almost, 1/4" in diameter. You try to pick it off, and find that it's firmly attached to your pet. It's got its head buried in your loved one's flesh!
