Veterinarians, responsible breeders and pet professionals have increasing concerns about "throw away pets". I live in a university town. Every fall we see new students buying kittens and puppies from the local pet store. They're also DEPENDANT.

Many people do not readily understand how traumatic the loss of a pet can be. Those who have loved and lost one of their dear animal friends, however, know that it is akin to the passing of a child.
